Ooh, this is an S.O.S.

North Fork Theatre, Westbury, Long Island, July 7th, 2007. It was the night before my Sweet Sixteen trip to Laguna Beach, California. We were taking the red eye at 5am. But first, a pit stop to see Jesse McCartney in concert. The opening act comes on. They're called the Jonas Brothers. The stage was decorated like a prom (Joe would have just graduated high school). Aren't they those cute boys with the music video on Disney Channel for the theme song of American Dragon? Wow, I didn't realize they were so cute! And so talented...they literally play every instrument, even a tambourine and a kazoo! At the end of their set they exclaimed, "If you preorder our CD at the merch stand, we'll stay here all night and meet every single one of you!" I didn't know why, but I felt I had to.
I sent my mother to the merch stand to preorder the CD so I didn't have to miss a second of the concert. When my mom came back she said, "We'll leave during Jesse's last song so we beat the line." Boy was she wrong. When we left during Jesse's last song, the line was already wrapped around the parking lot. I guess a lot of people felt the same way I did that night.

The line hadn't moved for at least an hour, and finally my mom said, "If the line doesn't move by 10pm we're leaving." As fate would have it, the line moved at exactly 10pm. I literally watched my phone change from 9:59pm to 10pm after getting up off the floor from rubbing out a terrible foot cramp. We finally made it up to the security guards to check our tickets, but oh no! Where are the tickets?! I must have left them on the floor when I sat down to take care of my foot cramp! I'm FREAKING out. My mom is going to kill me, we just waited here for 2+ hours! Worry not, because mother always knows best. The meet & greet ticket was the same color as the packing for the buttons they gave for preordering the CD. My mom folded the buttons underneath so all you saw was the gold "ticket", and surely enough, security let us through no problem.

We were next and I didn't know what to expect. Kevin was our first encounter, and he not only thanked me for coming out, but he also gave my mom a hug and thanked her for bringing me. Next was Joe, who kept tossing my signed t-shirt back and forth between him and Nick. They're funny too 😍 The rest of it seems like a blur, I was totally star struck over boys I barely knew anything about just a few minutes ago. I left feeling faint, I wanted to cry. What's happening? I couldn't understand it, I was fangirling and I wasn't even a fan yet. July 7th, 2007 (07/07/07) is said to be the luckiest day ever. I know that to be true, because that was the day I knew something big was happening that would change my whole life.
