BUILD Series, December 12th, 2018. A special show comes around every once in a while that captures our hearts so fondly, our TV family feels like they’re really a part of our life. Hear me out, if I was lucky enough to have a choice, I would of course prefer Jack Pearson to be my husband, but I would also have no problem if he was my father. This man deserves all the awards for portraying the absolute perfect man that we all aspire to have in our lives in any way, shape or form. He was a teen heartthrob back in the 90’s as Jess on Gilmore Girls, and he’s aged fine like wine to takeover prime time television once again as the now refined man of our dreams on This Is Us.

At this point in my fangirl career, it takes a very special someone to get me to wait outside in the frigid cold for. In this particular case, Milo is someone I would do literally anything to meet especially since it’s such a rare opportunity to come by. BUILD Series filmed in Soho, NYC is an extremely fan centric show that is very good about letting people meet the guests before and after the show. Considering that BUILD Series is relatively new and not all that well known, I got there what I considered to be substantially early, but the crowd I found once I rounded the corner told me otherwise. For a split second, it seemed like there may not even be a point to wait in this mass of people, but we all know that’s not my usual style. I scouted the barricades until I found exactly one spot left all the way at the end, the furthest point from the door where Milo would enter and exit. This was seemingly not the best place to be, but it would have to do - if there was any chance, this was it.

I barely even waited long, and I was fully prepared to with all my layers of clothing. The moment Milo came out, he was coming straight towards me. Could this really be? Of all places to start? As this caught me completely off guard, I was fumbling in a hurry to get my gloves off and get my phone ready. A gentleman as ever, he took my phone to take the picture. Thank God, because I could not have risked messing this monumental moment of my fangirl career up. I have to say, for a free and informal meet & greet, I have never seen anyone stay outside that long. He went back up and down the line until he made sure every single person was greeted and got what they wanted whether it was a picture or an autograph. He really is the real life Jack Pearson that we all hoped and dreamed for. For my first time at BUILD Series and for someone of his stature, I couldn’t believe how easy this experience was - I still had at least an hour and a half left on my meter! The security was phenomenal, asking each person who they were waiting for and keeping track of who was there first. I really have to say they kept it more organized than paid meet & greets hosted by companies that do this for a living. If there’s ever someone you want to meet, waiting outside of BUILD Series is definitely the way to go!
