Darling, You're My Lover

Darling, You're My Lover

Lover pop-up NYC, August 23rd, 2019. Could lightning strike twice? Would I be lucky enough to bump into Miss Americana at her pop-up once again? Timing is everything in these situations, and the way the line went for BLOCKS, people would be lucky if they got in by the time it closed for the day. Thankfully I have every credit card known to earth for instances just like these, and because the pop-up was sponsored by Capital One, cardholders got to skip the line! Which still took hours too, but at least it was half the time as the regular line.

I eagerly anticipated the rush of the crowd reacting to Taylor Swift’s presence should she grace us with it, but the moment never came. Nevertheless, the Lover pop-up was as dreamy as I imagined with all of its pastel colors and plush velvety accents delicate as tie dye clouds. Creativity is certainly something she doesn’t lack in anything she does. We were back to an era of what Taylor does best, romance. If this was any indication of what was to come, it was definitely going to be another life changing experience. Later to be announced, instead of a tour she would do an East and West Coast festival, one weekend only. Swifties will travel from all over the country for a limited night engagement to join together for our favorite gal. The thought of competing with half the country for prime tickets was nerve inducing, but that’s a game I never fall short at.

Floor seats night 1 of Lover Tour East, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store. It’s an odd thing to have a tour a full year after the album is released, but it is a totally different experience knowing every nuance of every song instead of still being in the learning process. Waiting longer somehow just makes it that much more special. When presented with the option to travel to Boston or LA (still not sure why Boston is the East coast destination, though I know part of the reason is she's never performed at Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots, and performing in venues she never has before was part of her selection process), I almost opted to go to LA since either way it’s a trip and it’s been a while since I’ve been to the motherland (I’m born and raised in Brooklyn, NY but Cali will forever have my heart). I’ve got bigger, dreamier vacation plans for 2020 if fate will allow it, so LA will have to wait. And if that falls through, hopefully the Jonas Brothers Vegas residency gets rescheduled because that will definitely do (What A Man Gotta Do?) 😎
